Empion Acquires Zalvus Recruiting

Berlin, August 29, 2024 – Just 2.5 years after its founding, the Berlin-based HR tech startup Empion announces the acquisition of Zalvus, a leading recruiting technology company in Germany. This is a strategic milestone in the German HR tech market. This acquisition strengthens Empion's position as a market leader in AI-driven recruiting and accelerates the company's growth. Zalvus, a pioneer in the HR industry, has been developing innovative technologies since 2015 that have revolutionized the hiring process. The seamless integration of Zalvus into the Empion Group promises significant synergies.

Synergies for Efficiency and Cultural Fit in Recruiting

With the acquisition of Zalvus, Empion not only expands its portfolio but also significantly enhances the efficiency and cultural fit in the recruiting process. "Our AI-based cultural matching reduces the cost per hire by up to 61 percent, but what's crucial is that employees fit into the team in the long term. We can further expand these strengths through the acquisition," emphasizes Dr. Larissa Leitner, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Empion.

Zalvus: Innovator in the Berlin HR Industry

Zalvus has established itself over nearly a decade as a leading innovator in the German HR industry, serving over 600 clients with cutting-edge recruiting strategies. Zalvus' unique concept combines performance marketing, big data, gamification, and artificial intelligence to optimize the entire hiring process.

Strategic Strengthening and European Values at the Core

Dr. Annika von Mutius, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Empion, highlights the strategic significance of the acquisition: "Zalvus not only strengthens our market position but also brings us closer to our goal of transforming the recruiting market with European values and cutting-edge technology."

Combined Expertise for an Optimized Future

The acquisition is also well received at Zalvus. "Our combined expertise opens up even more possibilities for our clients. The portfolio will be expanded, and the processes in marketing, selection, and optimization will be improved," says Matilda von Gierke, Co-Founder of Zalvus.

Positive Investor Reactions: Focus on Growth Potential

The acquisition of Zalvus is also welcomed by Empion's investors. Rouven Dresselhaus, Investor and Board Member of Empion, sees this as another crucial step: "The integration of Zalvus strengthens Empion's market position and enables accelerated growth." Robin Behlau, also an early-stage investor and Board Member, adds: "Empion has achieved impressive success in a short time, and this acquisition opens up entirely new opportunities."

A Milestone for the European Recruiting Market

Samuli Siren, CEO and Managing Partner of Redstone VC, emphasizes the importance of this acquisition for the European recruiting market: "This acquisition is a milestone for the market and will have a lasting impact on the industry."

Continuity and Innovation After the Zalvus Acquisition

It is particularly gratifying that the founders of Zalvus – Matilda von Gierke, Florian Burchett, and Christoph Schuster – will remain on board, continuing to support both Zalvus and Empion. The Zalvus brand will be retained and will continue as part of the Empion Group. Clients can continue to rely on the proven services and additionally benefit from Empion's new, culture-based recruiting approaches.
